There's been some big DLC releases for major titles this year, do these substantial add-ons help to increase brand awareness and revive engagement?
We can see when comparing Twitch presence the last 2 days before DLC launch day with the first 2 days post launch day that in most cases there's a very significant increase in video output. However, with the exception of Starfield, viewership sees a good increase but it's not in line with the amount of uptake in video count.
We could easily delve into this in more detail, to see if all the additional video content is coming from mostly the same channels as before release, or if there are more channels responsible for the extra videos, but that would have to be another infographic!
Clearly, engagement with a brand is improved in the immediate launch window of a premium piece of DLC, however, the impact differs depending on the type of game, with more shooter focused titles out performing those leaning more on the RPG side.
