Placements in key locations on digital stores help maximise audience exposure!
As it's spooky season we've taken a look at which Horror themed games have had the highest presence across console stores, plus Steam, throughout October so far, on a General player profile.
There's a lot of variation across the stores when looking at relevant titles this month, with Diablo 4 having the most exposure, as it appears in the top 10 on the PS5, Xbox Series and Steam stores.

Generally, overall the PS5 console store has given more placements to newer releases, including Slitterhead which isn't out until next month, whereas, the Xbox Series console store has greater support for more back catalogue and evergreen titles. Unsurprisingly, the Switch console store shows a very different Top 10 to the others, with more lighter-hearted games and less traditional outright horror.

But 'What's a General player profile?', we hear you ask.
Certain areas and placements within the console stores (except Nintendo's eShop) change and are tailored to the player depending on that player's history, what they've purchased, played or added to their wishlist. We have many different player profiles we use to capture data, such as RPG, Shooter, Sports, etc. General is our 'control' profile, it has no player history at all.
Also, to note, the stores change depending on location too!
